The White Plains Performing Arts Center is incredibly easy to get to from Manhattan and throughout the tri-state area.
By Train: Metro North’s Harlem Line stops at White Plains. For schedules click here or call 1 (800) METRO-INFO. Get off in White Plains (not the North White Plains stop.)
From the train station, walking to the theatre takes about 10 minutes and directions follow below, or you can easily jump in a cab (there is a taxi stand down the steps from the train station - take it to the City Center complex (ask the driver to take you to Target - the theatre is in the same building.) The cab ride from the train station to the theatre should cost about $5.
Walking directions from the train:
At the WHITE PLAINS station exit the train to the left of the train’s forward motion (both doors should open) and walk in the reverse direction of the train down the ramp to the exit stairs. At the bottom of the stairs, turn RIGHT and walk west on Main Street. The first street you will pass is Bank Street. Continue in that direction for four long blocks. On your right you will pass the Galleria Mall. Keep walking. Cross over Mamaroneck Avenue. Continue past the Atlanta Bread Company and Barnes and Noble. You’ll arrive at a cobble-stone driveway. Turn RIGHT and walk towards the pedestrian overpass. Enter the glass doors below the bridge. You’ll be facing the alternate entrance to Barnes and Noble and Circuit City. You can take either the escalator or elevator to the 3rd floor. The theatre lobby is clearly marked. Signs in the lobby will tell you where to go next. The entire walk takes 10-12 minutes (and you pass a Starbucks on the way!)
